Palak Daal ( Spinach Lentils )

Recipe :-

Ingredients :-

Moong Daal ( split green gram )  –  1 cup

Spinach ( chopped ) – 1 cup

Red chili powder – 1 tsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Onion ( chopped ) – 1

Black pepper – 3

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Water – 1 ½ cup

Green chili ( chopped )  – 2

Oil – 1 tbsp

Ginger / Garlic paste – ½ tsp

Method :-

Wash moong daal (  Split Green Gram ) with water and keep aside.

Put  pan on flame adding oil with black pepper, let them crackle and fry onions till light golden brown color.

Add moong daal , ginger/garlic paste, turmeric powder , red chili powder , salt , water.

Wait till daal ( lentil) becomes soft. Now add spinach , green chilies and cook it nicely.

Daal will start becoming thick  , according to your need add water in it.

Pour it in a bowl .

Your Palak Daal ( Spinach Lentils ) is ready.

Whole Wheat Sambar Khichda

There are varieties  of khichda and any time we make it taste good. As it’s just like another type of a very healthy soup. Khichda is always made with lentils but here I have innovated it with only wheat & sambar masala. Don’t worry the dish will come out fantastic as it includes more food ingredients.

Recipe :-

Ingredients –

Wheat grain – 2 cup ( Soaked in water whole night )

Daliya – 1 cup

Oats – 1 cup

Gram flour – ½ cup

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Red chili powder – 2 tsp

Salt – 2 tsp

Ginger/ Garlic paste – 1 tsp

Sambar masala – 2 tsp ( according to your taste )

Onion – 2 ( Chopped )

Curry  leaves – 2 string

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Fennel seed powder – 1tsp

Dried ginger powder – 1 tsp

Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp

Oil – 2 tbsp

Coriander leaves

Dried Red chili – 2

Green chili – 2 ( chopped )

Lemon juice – 2 tsp

Black pepper – 4

Bay leaf – 2

Water – 3 glass ( depend on how much thick you want , u can add more )

Method :-

Put cooker on flame add oil with black pepper, bay leaf let them crackle. Fry 1 chop onion till light golden brown color.

Add soaked wheat grains, oats, daliya, gram flour, turmeric powder, ginger/garlic paste , coriander powder, water 2 glass. Cook for 2 whistle at full flame & 2 whistle at medium flame, Check that grains are soft & nicely mixed with other ingredients.

Now add fennel seeds powder, dried ginger powder, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, sambar masala, salt, green chilies , water 1 glass.

Cook at medium flame till it become thick.

In a pan heat oil add mustard seeds, curry leaves, dried red chili & let them crackle. Fry 1 chopped onion till light brown colour.

Pour it on the khichda & take it out in a bowl.

Garnish with coriander leaves, lemon juice.

Your Whole Wheat Sambar Khichda is ready.

Pav Bhaji Soup

Recipe –

Ingredients –

Split Yellow Gram ( Tur Daal ) – 1  small bowl

Red chili powder – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Tomatoes – 3 medium size ( chopped )

Onion – 1 ( chopped )

Pav Bhaji masala – 2 tsp

Oil – 1 tbsp

Coriander leaves

Black pepper – 3

Water – 1 cup

Method :-

Boil split yellow gram ( tur daal ) in a cooker for 1 whistle at full flame & 1 whistle at slow flame. See that it become soft.

In a non stick pan heat oil by adding black pepper , let them crackle . Fry onions till light golden brown colour.

Now add tomatoes cook till they become soft . Mix boiled split yellow gram ( tur daal ), red chili powder, salt, pav bhaji powder, water.

Cook it nicely & add water according to the need, it should be little in a liquid form.

Now garnish with coriander leaves.

While serving in bowl add some small pieces of buns on it.

Your Pav Bhaji Soup is ready.
