Baked Gosh-e-feel

Gosh-e- feel  is an Afghan pastries made by shaping dough into the shape of an ear (gosh), and deep-fried in oil. Each shape is then topped with chopped pistachios and powdered sugar. The Afghans usually make gosh-e feel for Eid ul-Fitr . I have innovated this dessert with jaggery, wheat flour  and baked in an oven instead of deep frying it. A healthy version of tasty dessert.

Recipe :-

Wheat flour – 1 cup

Jaggery – ½ cup

Egg – 1

Milk – ½ cup

Oil – 1 tbsp

Method :-

In a bowl beat egg with jaggery than add wheat flour, oil , milk. Knead a soft dough.

Keep aside for 10 min covering it with cloth .

Make dough balls , take one ball roll with rolling pin by sprinkling some dry flour on it make a thin round tortilla.

With the help of round cookie cutter , cut tortilla in small circles .

Than  take one side of the circle and fold it over to the other side, crimping edges together. It will resemble an elephant ear.

Place them in an oil greased oven tray.

Preheat oven and toast them for 15 min at 250’C.

They will come out crispy light golden in color.

Your Baked Gosh-e-feel is ready.
